Mrs. Tapling
|
My name is Rachel Tapling and I’m your 5/6th grade teacher for the 2009-2010 school year! I am the homeroom teacher for the best class at Peace Lutheran (5/6, obviously!) and teach Social Studies, Science, English, Reading Skills, Health and P.E. I also teach Social Studies, Reading Skills, and Religion in the 7/8th grades.
I’m the one with the red hair who talks a lot about a little boy named Mason (my one-year-old), my 7 brothers and sisters, a football-obsessed husband, and accepts all gifts of chocolateJ. I am a Concordia University, Ann Arbor graduate and I love teaching middle school students, especially about social studies and how to analyze pictures and all kinds of text.
It’s my job and my joy to be an enthusiastic minister of grace to my students. I am a teacher because I feel called to work with students to help them learn and learn how they learn best. I want you to know that I thank God for the opportunity to work with the students at Peace Lutheran everyday. As much as I love the things that I teach, it is the students and their faith that are of utmost importance. When I ask my students “What is the most important thing?” I am speaking of God’s Grace no matter what subject we’re in.
Let’s have a great year together!
