THRIVENT PHASE-OUT GRANT
For the last couple of months we have been reporting that Thrivent would be discontinuing their Giving Plus program on January 1, 2010.

They will be starting a new program later this year that will allow members to allocate Thrivent monies not only to the school but to the church also.

In the interim, they have given us a program to bridge us from the old program to the new. This program is called the Challenge/Phase Out Grant. They are willing to send us a grant of $2,610 if we raise $5,220 by June 1, 2010.  The $2,610 number comes from 20% of the averaged monies that were raised for the Thrivent Giving Plus Program in years 2007 thru 2009.

We need to raise $5,220 by June 1st in order to collect the grant that has been designated to our school. All that we need to do is write out our donation to Peace Lutheran School. It can be made out for any amount and by any member. This money can be donated by “non-Thrivent” members of our church. These donations are not limited to the Thrivent members like they have been in the past.

As of February 18th, we have raised $2105, a bit shy of half way to our goal. Remember the faster we raise the $5,220, the faster we get the Grant of $2610.

Please give this check to Jill Oltman in the church office. The checks will be cashed by the school and used to pay off some of the church’s general bills. You will not have to fill out any forms. Please do not hesitate to call Jill Oltman in the church office, if you should have any questions.

Thank you so much for your continued support of our church and school.

LIFE QUOTE
“When you experience spiritual depressions, the answer is clear: Put your hope in God.  Be faithful in getting to worship.  Open your Bible daily and you will find many answers for your questions.  Pray a lot.  Attend the Lord’s Supper and feel His divine presence.  Gather with your Christian friends and you will see what a gift Jesus Christ has given you in His Church.”  Rev. Steven Kramer, speaker on the “Christian Crusaders” radio program. This “Life Quote” is from Lutherans For Life – www.lutheransforlife.org.
