Peace Lutheran Church was started by the Mission Board of the Michigan District in 1960. A multi-purpose building served the needs of the mission congregation. The Rev. Oscar Gerkin was called as missionary at large. On July 6, 1960, the congregation was officially established as Peace Lutheran Church of Warren, Michigan.

The April 1961 meeting of the Voters' Assembly gave final approval for the establishment of a Christian Day School. The school was operated in cooperation with Trinity Lutheran of Warren and was opened in September of the same year.

Peace Lutheran School became separated from Trinity Lutheran School in 1964. Eighty-three students in grades K-4 began the year. One grade was added each year until 1970 when the first 8th grade class graduated with nine students. Our school today serves Preschool through 8th grades.

AT PEACE WE BELIEVE:

We believe in and worship one God, the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Triune God has made us, and all things.

We believe that Jesus Christ, true God and true man, has redeemed us from sin and death, and has reconciled us to God by His life, death, and resurrection.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in our congregation today, using God's Word and the sacraments to transform our lives and make us parts of Christ's body, the Church.

We believe that the Triune God has revealed Himself and His great love for us in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. The Bible is God's Word, and therefore, is our only source for teaching and living.
