Dear Parents,
Our class is participating in the BOOK IT! Reading Incentive Program. The program kicks off in October and runs through March 31, 2012. Here is how the program works:
- Each month your child will bring home a reading log for that particular month.
- Every day that you read with your child for 15 minutes or more, color the picture for that day of the month. This can be you reading to your child a book of choice, or your child reading to you a book or his homework. This is an excellent way to help your child with his reading homework!
- If your child was able to color in at least 23 days for a total of 345 minutes, both you and your child sign the bottom of the calendar and send it to school in his folder.
- For each month that your child meets the reading goal, he receives a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut! DaVinci’s restaurant also takes the BOOK IT! coupons.
- If your child meets the reading goal for all 6 months, Pizza Hut has an All-Star Reader Award for your child!
