Peace Lutheran Church was started by the Mission Board of the Michigan District in 1960. A multi-purpose building served the needs of the mission congregation. The Rev. Oscar Gerkin was called as missionary at large. On July 6, 1960, the congregation was officially established as Peace Lutheran Church of Warren, Michigan.
The April 1961 meeting of the Voters' Assembly gave final approval for the establishment of a Christian Day School. The school was operated in cooperation with Trinity Lutheran of Warren and was opened in September of the same year.
Peace Lutheran School became separated from Trinity Lutheran School in 1964. Eighty-three students in grades K-4 began the year. One grade was added each year until 1970 when the first 8th grade class graduated with nine students. Our school today serves Preschool through 8th grades.
